Skin Manager User Guide FM26 – Easily add skins to Football Manager 26 with Skin Manager/Builder FM26!
This guide explains how to install and use FM Skin Manager Builder to install skins in Football Manager 2026. 🤩 With this app, you can switch between custom skins effortlessly without making adjustments in the game itself.
This manual was written by me, necjeff (DF11Faces), and is entirely based on my own experience and findings while using the amazing Skin Manager (Beta version - April 5, 2026).

Important Before You Start
To use FM Skin Builder correctly, make sure you are:
Logged into the FM Skin Builder website in your browser
Running the FM Skin Builder application on your PC
Both must be active at the same time.
If you are not logged in on the website while the application is open, the Skin Builder will not work properly.
Step 1 – Download FM Skin Builder
Go to the official FM Skin Builder website. https://fmskinbuilder.com/download
Open the Download section.
Select the download Windows | macOS
Download and save the installer to your computer.
Step 2 – Log in via the Browser
After downloading, a browser page will open.
Log in with your account on the FM Skin Builder website.
Click “Open FM Skin Builder Alpha”.
The application will start automatically.
⚠️ Make sure you stay logged in on the website while using the application.
Step 3 – Windows Security Warning
Windows may display a Microsoft Defender SmartScreen warning because the application is not widely recognized yet.
Click More Info if necessary.
Select Run Anyway to continue the installation.
ℹ️ This warning is normal for new software.
Step 4 – Start FM Skin Builder app
Go to the downloaded file on your PC.
Run the installer - After installation, the program will open.
On the main screen, you will see several options.
Click: Open Manager
This section allows you to manage and install skins.
Step 5 – Open Settings
Next you need to configure the path to your Football Manager installation folder.
Click the Settings wheel on the bottom left
Open the Paths section.
Here you will set the location of your Football Manager game files.
Step 6 – Set the Game Bundles Directory
You must select the correct Football Manager folder.
Navigate to the following directory:
Steam → steamapps → common → Football Manager 2026 → fm_data → StreamingAssets → aa → StandaloneWindows64
Select this folder and confirm by clicking Select Folder.
This allows FM Skin Manager to modify the game UI files.
Step 7 – Open the Gallery
Important: before going further, make sure:
You are logged into the FM Skin Builder website in your webbrowser
Running the FM Skin Builder application on your PC
Now ➤ Go to the Gallery section inside FM Manager.
Here you can browse community-created skins.
Select a skin you want to use and download it.
Step 8 – Downloaded Skins Appear in Mods
After downloading a skin, it will automatically appear in the Mods section.
Open Skins.
Locate the downloaded skin.
Click Apply.
Step 9 – Apply the Skin to the Game
Before installation, a confirmation window will appear.
Check the box:
I understand this will modify game files
Click Apply to Game.
The skin will now be installed.
Step 10 – Start Football Manager 2026
Launch Football Manager 2026.
The new skin will now be active in the game interface.

Although all of this is available for free, it would be good to thank the creator.

FIX - In case of problems
If you experience any problems, you can always restore the original FM26 game files.
Close Steam + FM26
Remove the FM Skin Builder app from your PC.
Open Steam and go to your Library.
Select Football Manager 2026.
Next:
Click the settings (gear) icon on the right side of the page.
Select Properties.
Go to Installed Files.
Click Verify integrity of game files.
Your game will now be restored to the FM26 default skin.
