df11 FACES

DF11 - WORKFLOW PROCESS
THE ORIGINAL FOOTBALL PORTRAIT FACEPACK SINCE 2010
To guarantee that every DF11 face is produced with consistent quality, a DF11 workflow has been developed.
This workflow equips you with the necessary tools and insights to produce DF11 faces at the highest quality.
2. Creating DF11 faces in Photoshop:
1.1 Collecting the images
✅ Images in portrait style.
✅ Images from the current season.
✅ Images from club websites.
✅ Google for other/optional sources.
✅ Players must wear football/sport shirts.
🔶 Action-style photos are allowed only when a portrait photo is not available online. This typically applies to young players/coaches.
🚫 Images of cheering players.
🚫 Images of players/staff wearing club scarves.
⚠️ Please contact us first if you intend to use images that may violate copyright.
2.1 Photoshop
To create DF11 faces in the proper style, some knowledge of Photoshop is necessary.
For beginners, I recommend Photoshop Elements because, unlike the standard Photoshop, you can easily resize images by simply moving the corners apart or closer together, as shown in the video at 2.2.
Photoshop is quite expensive to purchase.
Fortunately, you can also purchase monthly licenses at Adobe that you can cancel at any time.
1.2 Numbering the images with the official Football Manager player IDs.
The official player ID is a number consisting of 1 to 12 digits.
A quick and safe method is to use our intern DF11 Data Panel, which lets you easily copy and paste IDs with one single click.
🗃️ Other useful databases with official Football Manager IDs are available on our partner websites, FMPlayer.net and EFEM.club, where you can find the IDs in the web addresses of the players' pages.
2.2 The Template

1.3 Removing backgrounds from images
⚠️ Must do first!
Go to Cutout.pro to create a free account.
-
With a free account, you can do about 70 actions a day.
-
Create multiple accounts if you need more free credits for actions.
-
Fast uploads: You can upload up to 8 images at a time. (bulk)
If an image has a background, it must be removed first!
(You can skip this step and move forward to 1.4 if the background is already transparent)
✅ Remove the background for all images.
✅ Use this tool ➝ www.cutout.pro/remove-background
✅ During this process, use the crop tool to select only the upper body to get the best-quality faces.

2.3 Applying the Correct style
Center Check Tool
To use the appropriate DF11 style, use the Center Check Tool at the top of the PSD file.

Frontal Portrait
This is the original and preferred style for a DF11 face.

Three-quarter portrait
This is the second-best portrait style to use.

1.4 Enhance image quality
⚠️ Visit Cutout.pro to create a free account if you haven't done so in step 1.3.
To ensure all DF11 Faces are created in high quality, we enhance each image with Cutout.pro's Image Enhancer.
✅ Upload the images in batches of 10 to 15 at a time to the Enhance tool ➝ www.cutout.pro/photo-enhancer-sharpener-upscaler
⚠️ If you skipped step 1.3, you will need to use the crop tool for all images and select the upper body only to get the best-quality faces!

2.4 Consistency
👤 All DF11 faces must have a consistent style, which applies to players, staff, referees, and board members!
👤 You need to ensure that the body size matches the examples.
👤 To achieve this uniformity, you can overlay an image onto a player photo within the template.
👤 This approach will ensure that all DF11 faces maintain the same size and a cohesive appearance.
A uniform style
All players and coaches in DF11 should have the same uniform appearance. This applies to men's and women's faces.

1.5 Rules regarding mid-season (winter) transferred players
Please note that we only update the photos of players who have made permanent transfers. We don’t update photos for players currently on loan.
2.4 Most common mistakes
It's completely understandable that mistakes can occur during the process. The good news is that there's always an opportunity to learn and improve from them!
To keep everything organized, any incorrect faces will be held back from the update pack until the creator corrects them.
Remember to ensure the faces match those in the template. This little detail can save you a lot of extra work down the line. Keep up the great effort!
